DEPUTY MINISTER OF INDUSTRY: 300 MILLION DOLLARS OWRTH OF GOODS WERE EXPORTED IN 2021

Hasan Büyükdede, Deputy Minister of Industry and Technology, was connected to the opening ceremony of the fair online. Büyükdede said, “Our elevator industry realized 250 million dollars of exports, 116 million dollars of imports in 2020, 300 million dollars of exports and 158 million dollars of imports in 2021. I would like to congratulate our elevator industry, which is one of our sectors with a foreign trade surplus,” Büyükdede said, and underlined that 2,772 elevator assembly and component manufacturing companies are registered in the industry registry system.

Büyükdede continued his words as follows:

“Labor costs, raw material prices and logistics costs are increasing all over the world, so it is inevitable that these will be reflected in the final product prices. I think the best trump card we have as a country is the ability of our businesses to act in a dynamic and agile manner. We are in a position to compensate for the disruptions in the supply of all kinds of goods and services, especially those in the supply chain. Let's not miss this opportunity.”

ZAPPA: TWO IMPORTANT FACTORS FOR SUCCESS!

Roberto Zappa, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the European Elevator Association, was one of the people who attended the opening ceremony online. In his speech, Zappa emphasized that the Elevator Istanbul Fair has always been one of the most influential international fairs in the world and congratulated AYSAD, which has completed its 50th anniversary this year. Underlining that trade fairs offer important opportunities for exchange of ideas and following innovations in the sector, Zappa also pointed out that innovation and research activities are the two most important factors for success in world markets.

KARAVELİOĞLU: PRODUCTION CAPABILITY INCREASED NEARLY DOUBLE

Kutlu Karavelioğlu, Deputy Chairman of the Turkish Exporters Assembly, pointed out that the machinery industry in Turkey has the opportunity to export 450 billion dollars, and said that for a long time, 11 percent of Turkey's gross national product was allocated to machinery installation investments. Emphasizing that machinery installation investments have increased with the pandemic period, Karavelioğlu announced that Turkey's production capability has increased by 48.6 percent in the last two years.

DALGAKIRAN: SHARE IN THE WORLD MARKET MUST BE COMPARED

Adnan Dalgakıran, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Turkish Machinery Federation, started his speech by noting, “Change is the law of the universe. When we look at the developments in the world, where do we take place in this change? Drawing attention to the comparison of today's turnover with five years ago, Dalgakıran said, "How much share was I getting from the world market five years ago? How much do I get now? This is the correct assessment,” he said.

TARGIT: “WE CONTINUE OUR WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH AYSAD PRINCIPLES”

Addressing the participants at the opening ceremony of the fair, AYSAD Chairman of the Board Sefa Targıt said, “In the past years, we used to invite very valuable expert speakers and exchange information on issues that were closely related to the sector, especially safety and occupational safety.” Targıt pointed out that the meetings were not organized due to the low participation rate in these events.

Reminding the loss of life due to occupational accidents in recent years, Targıt said, “I would like to respectfully commemorate our employees who lost their lives in accidents that we saw were preventable through our expert studies. This year, AYSAD again has publications on information and security, which we will present to those who visit our stand. We continue our work in line with the principles of AYSAD and the purposes stated in its regulations.
