MP YENER ÖVÜNÇ ASANSÖR INCREASES CAPITAL

MP Yener Övünç Asansör, one of the leading companies in the elevator industry, decided to increase capital. Chairman of the Board of MP Yener Övünç Elevators, Uğur Yener said that they will go to a capital increase of 10 million TL in order to strengthen their capital against the increasing raw material prices and to meet the fund requirements.

Uğur Yener, Chairman of the Board of Directors of MP Yener Övünç Asansör, which offers package elevator solutions with the production of control panels, doors, cabins and suspensions, spoke to Haber Elevator.

Sharing the company's targets for 2022, Yener drew attention to the problems experienced in the supply of raw materials; “It is not possible to buy the product that we bought for 10 TL earlier at the same price today. It is necessary to put capital on it so that the product can be supplied”, Yener said, and noted that the capital will be increased with the value increases to be obtained in 2022. “Currently, our capital is 10 million TL. We plan to increase this figure to 20 million TL this year.”

“2021 WAS THE YEAR OF FINANCIAL LOSSES”

Reminding the global pandemic and the rise in exchange rates, Yener said, "We had a financial loss, we had to buy products at high prices" for 2021.

TARGET 150 MILLION TL TURNOVER

Reminding the export figures of 2021, Yener said that the exports realised corresponded to 40 percent of the total turnover; he noted that they aim this figure to reach around 50 percent by 2022. Yener said that their turnover target for 2022 was 150 million TL.

"WE HAVE HIGH PRODUCTION CAPACITY"

Yener also provided information on the capacity of the production facility: “We have a production capacity of approximately 2,000 cabins and a capacity of 1,200 package elevators. As in previous years, we are trying to serve at full capacity today. Five years from now, there will be a MP Yener Övünç Asansör that continues to grow in the elevator industry, increases its market share and continues to develop its export network. We will continue to strengthen our presence”.

FOCUS ON CABIN INTERIOR DESIGN

Explaining that as a company, they focus on working on interior design models, Yener said, “We are improving our products a little more every day. Our engineers are working effectively on new cabin designs. The works in which we put visual quality at the forefront have been on our agenda lately”.

EXPORT FOCUSED ON EUROPE AND RUSSIA

Stating that they have created a wide export network, Yener said that they send products to 45 countries in total. Yener said, “Europe and Russia are among the regions we focus on. Apart from these, we also work with countries such as South America, North Africa, the Turkic Republics and the Middle East”.

Underlining that commercial cooperation with the Middle East is not developed enough, Yener pointed out that they could not reach an agreement on the price segment. Yener said, “We determine our prices based on the product content. Therefore, it is not possible to address all incoming requests. Because we have a certain product range and this may not always appeal to every company. We are concentrating on the areas we can address" he said.

“WE WILL OPEN TO THE NORTH AFRICA MARKET”

Noting that they are working on new markets to develop their export network, Yener announced that they have initiatives in North Africa. Yener also said:

“Even though it is a market where price competition is at the forefront, we are making a name there for ourselves as well. We adapt to competitive conditions by keeping our product range flexible. This requires wide variation. We try to offer options based on demands. The Middle East and Russian Republics can lie weight on component demand from time to time. They take the cabins, control panels and doors from us and assemble them themselves. They can complete other parts of the package themselves. While doing this, we offer the service. Those who prefer that service get it as a package”.

"OUR BIGGEST STRENGTH IS OUR REFERENCES"

“The world is pretty small now. Everyone can reach anywhere, the industry knows each other on a global scale. It is possible to reach new companies through references. This is a big advantage for good companies. Although we have proven ourselves institutionally, we have increased our recognition thanks to the references of the organizations we have signed”.

EMPLOYMENT OF QUALIFIED PERSONNEL IS A MUST”

“We cannot find qualified personnel. We cannot employ experienced technical engineers. Our need for colleagues who are well-equipped in the elevator industry and who will love this profession is increasing day by day”.

THE FOUNDATION STORY OF MP YENER ÖVÜNÇ ELEVATORS

Chairman of the Board of MP Yener Övünç Asansör, Uğur Yener, who stepped into the industrial sector with the manufacture of machine parts in 1980, when he graduated, told the story of his entry into the elevator sector. Stating that Övünç Mühendislik, which was established in 1989, manufactures control panels for the elevator industry, Yener reminded that with the establishment of Yener Asansör in 1997, they produced elevator doors, cabins and suspensions and marketed elevator materials. Yener continued his words as follows:

“Övünç Mühendislik manufactured goods; Yener Asansör performed marketing. Meanwhile, we met with the Spanish company Macpuarsa. They offered us a partnership, we realised this partnership in 2001. But under the conditions of that day, the 2001 crisis broke the balance. Therefore, the Spaniards were afraid to invest in Turkey and left. At that point, my brother and I wanted to continue Macpuarsa. Thus, we established MP Yener Övünç Asansör by combining the three companies. Since then, we have continued to produce and market them.”
